Ep. 21 – [Sandro Quintero & Alejandro Lopez] | Automation @ Festo, Immigration Challenges, Technical Expertise, Networking and Customer Support

In the twenty-first episode of the Manufacturing Hub, we speak with Sandro Quintero and Alejandro Lopez from Festo USA and Canada respectively. We begin our discussion by understanding their backgrounds and more importantly perseverance in immigrating to a new country and continuing to pursue their career in automation. We then dive deeper into the culture at Festo and uncover how a privately held company is able to provide support unlike any other. Festo has expertise in integrating their own products, as well as, other manufacturers. They don’t shy away from putting together a custom system that utilizes Festo, Rockwell Automation, Cognex, etc. We end our discussion by discussing the various training programs Festo is able to offer to their employees, some of the personal interests Alejandro and Sandro are pursuing and their outlook on the manufacturing industry.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

Sandro Quintero is an experienced automation product and business manager. He began his engineering career at Festo as a Sales Engineer in 2011. As he grew within the company, he understood the importance of marketing and thus combined his technical knowledge with business development in his subsequent roles within Festo USA. In addition to his day job, Sandro is a small airplane enthusiast and holds a pilot license for small aircraft. Based on our discussion, he’s continuing to build his technical and personal skills within Festo and is looking to grow his impact on the automation industry.
